List of Materials Contained in the Berlin Archives
This link provides an inventory of the James A. Berlin Papers, 1978-1994. These materials are housed in the Purdue University Archives and Special Collections located on the fourth floor of the Hesse Library (aka the Virginia Kelly Karnes Archives and Special Collections Research Center). These papers were organized and this list was created by Dr. Shirley Rose.

On our first visit to the Karnes Archives, we examined all of Box 7 and half of Box 3.

We finished off Box 3 on our second visit. We found a lot more specific information that gives us an idea about how Berlin taught process for a particular assignment. We'll need to verify/clarify this with one (or a couple) of his former mentees.

On our initial visit to the Rhetoric and Composition Resource Room located on the third floor of Heavilon Hall at Purdue University, we found a number of interesting documents related to Berlin's death, including recordings of a memorial held at Purdue and another held at the 1994 meeting of the Conference on College Composition and Communication. Scans of the documents can be found at the link above. We're in the process of converting the memorials from audio cassette to mp3 after which we will transcribe the memorials and post .pdfs of the texts.
